Descriptive research seeks to depict what already exists in a group or population.

A variable is something that can be changed, such as a characteristic or value.

Cross-sectional research takes place at a single point in time.

Longitudinal research is a study that takes place over a period of time.

causation One of the most important distinctions to make when discussing the relationship between variables is the meaning.

A correlation is the measurement of the relationship between two variables.

    1. Descriptive research- studies do not seek to measure the effect of a variable; they seek only to describe.
cross-section-All tests, measures, or variables are administered to participants on one occasion
longitudinal research:Data is first collected at the outset of the study.

  2. These researches are very interesting. But here's a friendly advice, you should put examples as in like pictures, videos, or links to websites so I can get more information on these types of researches. Overall, good job and next time, try to elaborate on them more! Thank you! -Stephanie <3

  3. Hey Katie, I don't think we have discussed cross-sectional research in class before. Other than that, I think that this information will help me study for sure.
